“We’ve been working with Sarah for a long time.”
I've been working with Sarah for a long time. We first met when our first Bernese Mountain Dog was nearly a year old. He'd started backing away from us when we approached him to put his prong collar on, something another trainer recommended. Sarah could immediately tell he was sensitive to punishment and feared being corrected; the prong collar was traumatizing. Instead of punishing our dog, Sarah taught us happy techniques to bring our boy around—it also changed our family's dynamics. Our kids, who were young at the time, still reminded me of what "Sarah Says!" Years later, when we got our second Bernese Mountain dog, we used Sarah's puppy camp to get her off to the best start. She could tell us things about our puppy's personality we wouldn't have known, and everything she said was spot on. Now we're using Sarah to help us learn to walk the dogs together-nearly 200 pounds of dog power! As some of the dogs in our neighborhood can be reactive, I needed help teaching them to stay with me and not get defensive. Her focus is that dogs should happily mirror your body and voice and not be hoisted around on a leash (you pull, they pull) works. I now walk them around our neighborhood, and people stop to comment how happy, beautiful, and well-mannered they are— all thanks to Sarah!
